The Phoenix City Council approved an agreement with B & F Contracting, Inc. for Construction Manager at Risk services for the Water Main Replacement Pressure Zone 5E Project. This initiative aims to evaluate and replace aging water mains, primarily those in alleys and easements with high break rates and repair difficulties. The project involves installing new 6-inch to 12-inch water mains, multiple cut and plugs, and the installation or relocation of fire hydrants. Coordination with City staff and plumbing contractors for water service relocation may also be necessary. B & F Contracting, Inc. will provide preconstruction services, including cost estimating, permitting assistance, green building material advice, and long-lead item procurement. They will also manage construction services under a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) agreement, soliciting bids from pre-qualified subcontractors and ensuring compliance with the City's bid requirements and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program goals. The agreement value will not exceed $21,532,500, with funding from the Water Services Department's Capital Improvement Program Budget. The project is located in Council District 2, bounded by 52nd Street to 69th Place and St. John Road to Paradise Lane.
