The Phoenix City Council approved master agreements with five contractors for citywide asbestos and lead abatement services. The services, procured on an as-needed basis, include abatement, transport, disposal, documentation, and "put back" of materials, along with other environmental services. The total value for all services across the five agreements will not exceed $30 million. Each master agreement has a term of up to five years or $6 million, whichever comes first. The council also authorized the City Manager to execute job order agreements up to $1 million each and granted an exception to City Code 42-20 for indemnification and assumption of liability provisions, excluding real property transactions. The selection process involved a qualifications-based approach with nine firms submitting proposals.
