The Phoenix City Council voted to continue Item 129, a request to authorize the City Manager to enter into a $1,000,000 agreement with DLR Group, Inc. for architectural services for the Valley Youth Theatre General Obligation Bond project. The item was continued from the June 18, 2025 meeting agenda to the July 2, 2025 meeting agenda. This continuance was requested to allow for the proper encumbrance of funds in Fiscal Year 2025-26. The architectural services include programming, study, site assessment design, and possible construction administration and observation services for a new permanent home for the Valley Youth Theatre. The proposed facility will feature an ADA-compliant 300-seat main theatre, a 99-seat studio theatre, office and meeting spaces, restrooms, rehearsal/workshop areas, dance studios, galleries, and specialized shops for sets, costumes, and props. DLR Group, Inc. was selected through a qualifications-based process that included 11 firms. The agreement term is five years from the Notice to Proceed.
