The City Council granted a public utility easement for electrical facilities and the installation of a pad-mounted transformer at 6925 W. Meadows Loop. This easement, granted for $1.00 and other valuable consideration, is necessary to provide power to the new Laveen Heritage Park. The ordinance (S-51984) grants the right to public service corporations, agricultural improvement districts, and telecommunication corporations to construct, reconstruct, replace, repair, operate, and maintain utility facilities within the Easement Premises. The easement prohibits the grantor (City) from erecting structures within the limits of the easement and requires a clear area around equipment pads. The grantee must restore the affected area after work and the City reserves the right to relocate facilities at its cost.
