On April 9, 2025, the Phoenix City Council adopted Ordinance S-51822 to amend the previously approved Ordinance S-51553 and update the grantee of $750,000 in ARPA-funded transitional housing support from Steel & Spark, LLC to Senior Bridge, LLC. This amendment reflects an administrative change in the entity name for the transitional housing portion of the Senior Bridge Project. The development at 2853 E. Van Buren Street will offer 40 units of transitional housing and up to 65 affordable housing units for seniors aged 55 and older. The adjustment follows the Council’s March 26, 2025 decision (Ordinance S-51736) awarding affordable housing funds to Senior Bridge, LLC. The project continues as a mixed-model of transitional and long-term affordable senior housing.

Why it Matters

This update ensures consistency in project administration and funding allocation for a vital housing development aimed at senior and low-income residents. It maintains momentum for a key community project without altering its scope or funding.
