The Louisville Metro Council approved a resolution to honor Rev. Dr. Frank M. Smith, Jr. by dedicating the northwest corner of Krupp Park Drive and Preston Highway as "Dr. Frank M. Smith, Jr. Drive." This dedication recognizes Dr. Smith's unwavering commitment and dedication to the community, including his tireless advocacy for improving employment and education, fostering a fairer and more equitable city, and his extensive work in collaborative, connectional ministry. The resolution specifically appropriates $188.00 for the fabrication and installation of the honorary street sign. Dr. Smith has served as a Senior Pastor for 27 years, founded Christ's Church for Our Community, and holds multiple degrees. He has held significant leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of Simmons College of Kentucky and President of Louisville's Interdenominational Ministerial Coalition. The sign will be placed near the addresses 5300 Preston Highway and 1200 Krupp Park Drive. The Department of Public Works is responsible for the sign's installation upon passage of the resolution and receipt of funds.
