Ordinance appropriates $10,000 from District 26 Neighborhood Development Funds, through the Office of Management and Budget, to the Tommy Elliott Fund for Community Leadership for sponsorship of the 2025 Storyteller event. The funds underwrite the Silver Tier sponsorship at StoryFest on April 10, 2025 at the Muhammad Ali Center. StoryFest, marking the second anniversary of the downtown Louisville mass shooting, features six nonprofit storytellers sharing their impact. Grant proceeds will be distributed to Brightside, The Healing Place, The Louisville Orchestra, The Ace Project, The Pete Foundation, and Wilderness Louisville for their initiatives. The Silver Tier sponsorship includes four event tickets valued at $200, on-screen recognition, logo placement in event materials, and social media mentions. The Metro Council President, Brent Ackerson, sponsored the ordinance, which was approved by Council and Mayor Craig Greenberg. The Council determined the expenditure serves a public purpose and is subject to its adopted policies and procedures. This appropriation does not involve any zoning or land use changes.
