This ordinance appropriates $13,300 from District 20 Neighborhood Development Funds to the Louisville Metro Police Department to cover the purchase and two-year subscription of two Flock Safety license plate recognition cameras. One camera will be installed in the Dunbar Springs subdivision and one in Silver Oaks, each along public rights-of-way. The funding covers a two-year service term at $6,650 per location, after which the respective homeowner associations may continue service at their own cost. The solar-powered, LTE-connected cameras employ Vehicle Fingerprint™ technology for real-time alerts without fixed infrastructure requirements. Installation will proceed upon securing necessary permits from the Metropolitan Sewer District and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. LMPD’s Real Time Crime Center Director, Jennifer Corum, has formally accepted the funds and will oversee deployment. The measure is sponsored by Council Member Stuart Benson and adheres to Metro Council’s public-purpose expenditure policies.
