The Legislative Council enacted an ordinance appropriating $10,000 from District 26 Neighborhood Development Funds through the Office of Management and Budget to the Tommy Elliott Fund for Community Leadership to sponsor the 2025 Storyteller event at the Muhammad Ali Center. The council designated the contribution as a Silver Tier donation, with the four event tickets to be donated back to the organization. The event, scheduled for April 10, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at 144 N. Sixth Street, will raise proceeds to fund grants and initiatives of six local nonprofits: Brightside, The Healing Place, The Louisville Orchestra, The Ace Project, The Pete Foundation, and Wilderness Louisville. The ordinance affirms that the expenditure serves a public purpose, is subject to council policies and procedures, and takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
