The Louisville Metro Planning Commission considered an amendment to Section 11.4.7 of the Land Development Code (LDC), regarding neighborhood meeting requirements for revised development plans. This amendment was requested by Louisville Metro Council Resolution No. 23, Series 2024. The proposed text amendment will require a neighborhood meeting for applications to revise development plans that meet specific development thresholds and were subject to a rezoning within the last three years. These thresholds include an increase in density by 25% or more, an increase in building footprint by 25% or 500 square feet (whichever is greater), an increase to the height of structures beyond permitted maximums, a change in property use, or significant deviations in building or site design. The neighborhood meeting is to be held prior to submitting the application and will generally follow procedures for zoning map amendments. The Planning Commission voted 6-4 to recommend approval of the text amendment to the Louisville Metro Council.
