The Budget and Finance Committee approved a motion to initiate the escheatment process for idle funds from the inactive Panorama City Business Improvement District (BID), Account No. 51D. Once escheated, these funds will be transferred to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) for the implementation of traffic calming and safety measures on Lanark Street in Panorama City. The proposed measures include speed humps, curb extensions, signage, and other pedestrian improvements to address persistent traffic safety issues and prepare for the growth expected from the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail construction. LADOT is instructed to coordinate with Council District Six and community stakeholders to develop a plan for the design and installation of speed humps.
