The Los Angeles City Council approved the recommendation from the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) to remove the property at 6307 West 6th Street from the Rent Escrow Account Program (REAP). The property, with Assessor I.D. No. 5510-020-002, was placed into REAP due to code violations. The LAHD's Code Enforcement Division determined that the cited code violations have been corrected. The property owner has also paid all outstanding and non-appealable electric service and/or water charges to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). The contractor Coalition for Economic Survival provided an advisory opinion on the completion of the work. The Council's action terminates rent reductions and the REAP escrow account, with funds to be released as per the REAP Ordinance. Rent will be restored to its original level 30 days after the Department mails the tenants notice. The LAHD will conduct an expedited systematic inspection and impose associated fees, with the owner prepaying for two annual inspections beyond the initial SCEP fee.
