The Housing and Homelessness Committee approved a motion requesting the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) to enter into a sole source contract with Weingart. This contract would allow Weingart to continue providing homeless services at the Hilda Solis Care First Village, located at 1060 North Vignes Avenue in Council District 14, through June 30, 2026. The Village, opened in June 2021, has 232 beds for people experiencing homelessness, offering services like case management, connective services, shelter, and meals. Weingart has operated the program since its inception. The funding is provided by the City, and the program is built on County-owned land, with the County also funding construction and site maintenance. The Committee's decision was made on July 30, 2025, and is now forwarded to the Council for final consideration.
