The Los Angeles City Council approved the recommendation from the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) to remove the property at 1801 North Normandie Avenue from the Rent Escrow Account Program (REAP). This 5-unit multifamily property (Case No. 554846) was initially placed into REAP due to 52 violations, including structural hazards, fire warning devices, weatherproofing, maintenance, electrical, plumbing/gas, and illegal construction. The LAHD confirmed that all cited code violations have been corrected, and the property owner has settled all outstanding electric and water charges. Consequently, the rent reductions for the units will cease, the REAP escrow account will be closed, and remaining funds will be returned to the landlord after administrative fees and penalties are processed. The property will also be subject to expedited systematic inspections.
