The Los Angeles City Council approved a motion to transfer and appropriate $300,000 from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program Special Fund to the Bureau of Street Services (BOSS) Fund. These funds are allocated for the completion of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant access ramp improvements within Council District 1's Maya Corridor Project. The Maya Corridor Project is a streetscape improvement initiative located along 6th Street, spanning from Park View Street to Columbia Avenue. The project aims to enhance public infrastructure and celebrate the rich cultural history of the Latino and Indigenous communities. Specific improvements include upgraded curb ramps, improved sidewalks at bus stops, new wayfinding signage, custom intersection paving, and custom bus safety lights.
