The City Council accepted the 2025 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) award of $6,487,190 from the California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD). These funds will support the FamilySource System (FSS), a network of 19 FamilySource Centers (FSCs) operated by non-profit organizations. The FSCs provide comprehensive social services to low-income families, aiming to improve housing stability, increase financial security, and enhance academic achievement for youth and adults. The grant covers program delivery costs for FamilySource Centers ($4,686,302) and administrative costs ($1,800,888) for the term of January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. This award is an annual entitlement grant to the City of Los Angeles, with the Community Investment for Families Department (CIFD) serving as the designated Community Action Agency (CAA) and CSBG fund administrator. The FSS also receives support from the General Fund and the Community Development Block Grant.
