Blanton as Deputy Chief of the Fire and Rescue Department of the City of Jacksonville, pursuant to Section 31.102 (Deputy Fire Chief), Part 1 (Office of Director), Chapter 31 (Fire and Rescue Department), Ordinance Code. Chief Blanton holds a bachelor's degree from Florida State College of Jacksonville and began his career with JFRD as a 911 dispatcher in 1994. He was promoted through the ranks and currently serves as the Chief of the Rescue Division.
