The Denver City Council approved a $40,465.24 amendment to a purchase order with Front Range Fire Apparatus, increasing the total contract value to $9,656,105.24. These funds facilitate the one-time purchase of five new support vehicles for the Denver Fire Department's operations at Denver International Airport (DEN). The acquisition includes two model 2026 F550 Patrol Unit Vehicles and three model 2026 Oshkosh Striker Vehicles. The increased cost covers additional modifications requested by the fire department, such as power for extraction tools and custom storage for emergency response equipment, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. This purchase aligns with DEN's 'Vision 100' initiative to upgrade infrastructure and replaces an aging fleet. Notably, all new vehicles will utilize a new PFAS-FREE firefighting foam.
