The City of Denver's Department of Housing Stability (HOST) has approved a three-year contract with Urban Alchemy, a nonprofit social enterprise, for $3,075,625. The contract, running from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028, is for the provision of citywide community ambassador services. Urban Alchemy's ambassadors will engage with individuals experiencing homelessness, providing outreach, hospitality and safety services, and public right-of-way cleaning. Their role is to enhance public safety, promote prosocial behavior, and connect unhoused individuals with housing and other support services. This is part of a larger city strategy to address homelessness which also includes contracts for street outreach and youth street outreach with other organizations. Urban Alchemy's services will include data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and responding to 311 service requests.
