The city of Denver is adopting the Far Southwest Area Plan as a supplement to its Comprehensive Plan 2040. This small area plan covers six neighborhoods: College View-South Platte, Harvey Park, Harvey Park South, Bear Valley, Fort Logan, and Marston, all within Council District 2. The plan was developed over a 19-month period involving extensive community engagement, including numerous public meetings, workshops, and surveys. It establishes a long-term vision for the area, focusing on guiding growth near transit corridors while preserving the character of existing suburban neighborhoods. The plan addresses land use, housing, mobility, and quality of life infrastructure. Based on an inclusive process and consistency with citywide goals, the Community Planning and Development staff recommends approval.
