The City and County of Denver approved a three-year agreement with Allied Waste Transportation, Inc. (d.b.a. Republic Services of Denver, Inc.) for waste hauling services at Denver International Airport (DEN). The contract, with a value of $20,000,000.00, includes two one-year options for extension. The scope of work involves the collection and hauling of municipal solid waste, recyclables, and compost generated at DEN to appropriate disposal and processing facilities. Allied Waste Transportation was selected through a competitive RFP process. The contractor is responsible for finding downstream markets for all recycling and compost. The agreement aims to enhance DEN's sustainable materials management program, improve operational efficiency, and advance environmental goals.
