The City and County of Denver General Services Purchasing, on behalf of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Denver Fire Department, seeks to amend a purchase order with Front Range Fire Apparatus. This amendment adds $6,000.00 to the existing purchase order, bringing the new total to $4,078,784.33. The additional funds are for the equipment reconfiguration of Platform Aerial fire truck 23-001. The need for reconfiguration arose because in 2022, a change was made to all future fire trucks/tower orders where electric generators were removed due to the adoption of battery-powered hand tools. This created extra space which was initially utilized on top, but a subsequent body change removed compartment space, forcing daily use equipment to be moved to the top. This reconfiguration will add more pass-through cubic feet to the compartments, moving equipment from the top storage to the body compartment storage space (approx. 25.9 cubic feet). There is no change to the purchase order length.
