The city council is reviewing an amendment to a concession agreement between EL-ROI, LLC d/b/a Kabod Coffee and Denver International Airport (DEN). This amendment proposes to extend the agreement by five years, shifting the end date to January 4, 2034. The primary reason for this extension is to mitigate increased costs incurred by Kabod Coffee during the design and construction of their concession at DEN. The extended term will allow the concessionaire more time to amortize their investment. Denver International Airport will not provide any additional funding or capital investment for this amendment. The project aligns with DEN's Vision 100 initiative, aiming to expand infrastructure, improve passenger experience, and boost non-aeronautical revenue by providing new concession opportunities. The amendment also restates and revises the entire contract to ensure compliance with current concession standards. The initial contract term was seven years, which will be extended to twelve years with this amendment. This resolution is currently under approval review by the Transportation and Infrastructure committee.
