The City and County of Denver approved an Amendatory Loan Agreement with Kappa Tower II LLLP, a resolution that facilitates the development of Kappa Tower III. This amendment allows for the partial release of a vacant parcel from the Kappa Tower II property, enabling the construction of Kappa Tower III, a new senior affordable housing rental project. The original Kappa Tower II project, located at 9020 East Northfield Boulevard, was funded with $700,000 and provides 70 affordable units. The new Kappa Tower III project is slated to add 30 senior affordable housing units, funded with $1,050,000 from the Linkage Fee Fund. These new units will offer affordability limitations at 50% AMI (12 units), 40% AMI (9 units), and 30% AMI (9 units) for a period of not less than 60 years. The amendment itself does not alter the length or amount of the original Kappa Tower II loan agreement, but updates the legal description of the property to accommodate the future Kappa Tower III development.
