The City and County of Denver has approved an amendment to its contract with The Denver Rescue Mission, increasing funding by $10,000,000 for a new total of $19,349,448. The agreement extends operations through December 31, 2025, supporting shelter programming and services at the 48th Avenue Shelter and the Lawrence Street Community Center. The shelter system offers 24/7 emergency housing for up to 515 men, along with case management, laundry facilities, meals, and mental health referrals. The expansion enhances support services, including housing navigation and employment assistance, to facilitate stable housing transitions.
This funding increase ensures the continued operation of Denver’s largest emergency shelter system, providing critical housing and support services to homeless individuals. By enhancing case management and peer navigation, the city aims to improve housing stability and reduce chronic homelessness.
