The City and County of Denver approved a grant agreement with the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to expand the Denver Connector Microtransit program into west Denver neighborhoods. The RTD will provide $750,000 over 2024–2026, matched by an equal amount of city funding. The program offers dynamically routed, fare-free microtransit service using electric and hybrid vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible options. DOTI will procure a new provider by Q4 2024 to ensure uninterrupted service. The grant builds on successful pilots in Montbello and the GES neighborhoods and supports community-driven service area planning with neighborhood and council input.
