The Denver City Council approved the execution of a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) contract with Kraemer North America, LLC to build the East Colfax Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project. The guaranteed maximum price for the four-year contract is $197,334,058.13, covering council districts 5, 8, 9, and 10. The project includes construction of dedicated BRT lanes, station platforms, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, and streetscape enhancements along East Colfax Avenue. Funding sources include Federal 5309 Small Starts, DRCOG TIP grants, Elevate Denver, City of Aurora, Denver CIP, and Denver CASR. Kraemer was selected through a competitive process and will partner with Sky Blue Builders as a DBE subcontractor. The contract term runs from September 23, 2024 to August 30, 2028.
